A Modern Take on Primary Care

A woman and a man are having a conversation in an office or therapy setting. The woman, wearing a black sleeveless top and pink shorts, is sitting on a chair with her leg crossed and gesturing as she talks. The man, wearing glasses and a maroon polo shirt, is sitting on a stool, holding a notebook, and listening attentively.
  • I’m an internal medicine physician who believes good medicine starts with time, curiosity, and knowing patients as people—not just problems to fix.

After more than 15 years practicing and teaching in traditional healthcare settings, I came to the same conclusion many patients do: the system often makes it hard to deliver the kind of care people want. Short visits, fragmented communication, and a focus on reacting to illness instead of preventing it leave both patients and clinicians frustrated.

This practice was built to offer something different.

  • I’m board-certified in Internal Medicine and have spent much of my career caring for adults with complex medical needs. Teaching has been a central part of my work, helping clinicians translate evidence into practical, patient-centered care.

I’m also a co-founder and host of The Curbsiders, an educational podcast for healthcare professionals. Teaching has shaped how I practice medicine—I prioritize clear explanations, shared decision-making, and meeting people where they are.

  • I believe the most powerful medicine happens upstream.

That means focusing on prevention, lifestyle, and long-term health while staying grounded in evidence-based care. Exercise, sleep, nutrition, metabolic health, and mental well-being aren’t “extras”—they’re core to good medicine.

Care should be collaborative and unhurried. My role is to help you understand your options, weigh tradeoffs, and make decisions that align with your goals and values.

What patients are saying…

    Unhurried, thoughtful visits...

“The biggest difference with Dr. Watto’s practice is time. Appointments don’t feel rushed, and I never feel like I’m competing with a clock. He listens carefully, explains his reasoning, and makes sure we actually have a plan before we finish. It’s hard to overstate how valuable that is.”

    Evidence-based, but open-minded

“I’ve been skeptical of doctors and medical visits in the past, and I was honestly hesitant to try concierge care. What I appreciate about Dr. Watto is that he’s firmly evidence-based but not dismissive. He takes questions seriously, explains the science clearly, and is open to discussion instead of talking at you. It feels collaborative rather than prescriptive.”

    Dramatic Sleep Improvements

“I joined Dr. Watto’s five-week sleep program without really knowing what to expect. By the end, my sleep quality was dramatically better, and I finally understood how my habits were affecting my rest. The structure, accountability, and guidance made a real difference—this wasn’t just generic advice.”
